About us
The Beyond Bolac Catchment Action Group is a grassroots organisation that was set up to take action on landscape restoration in the catchment.
The vision is for a biodiverse, productive, resilient and safe catchment supporting vibrant communities and land managers
Priority issues are:
stream health, erosion, sediment control, pollution
productivity in the catchment
sustainable land use practices and improving sustainable productivity
a healthy lake, free of sediment and pollution
to identify salinity sources - salt ‘footprint’ for streams
to produce a Salt and Water Budget for a Water Management Plan
to optimise flows to Lake Bolac
wetland development and management
protecttion and enhancement of native vegetation
to carry out a ground water study
to identify sites of indigenous cultural significance
facilitation and management of project
The Executive include community members: John Malin, Rob Nicholls, David Allen, Bill Weatherly
The Group is strongly supported by: The Norman Wettenhall Foundation, Lake Bolac Development Association, Lake Bolac Land Protection Council, Lake Bolac Foreshore Committee, The Eel Festival Committee, and is working closely with Southern Farming Systems.
Key government agencies and partners include: Department of Primary Industries,
Department of Sustainability and Environment, Environment Protection Agency, Parks Victoria, Southern Rural Water, Glenelg Hopkins C.M.A., Aboriginal Affairs Victoria, and local government.
